Panasonic Unveils New DV PROLINE Product Family
"The AG-DVC10 is a key component of Panasonic's expanded, professional DV PROLINE family. The value-packed AG-DVC10 offers professional users the large form factor, IEEE1394 digital interface and superb digital imaging quality to expand their creative potential," said Stuart English, Vice President, Marketing, Panasonic Broadcast. "The highly-affordable AG-DVC10 is a powerful tool for a wide array of applications, from education to web streaming, from event videography to multimedia production." The AG-DVC10 will record for up to 80 minutes of digital component video (500 TV lines of resolution) and digital audio on a single ultra-compact mini-DV cassette. The miniature DV cassettes can be played back in all Panasonic DVCPRO studio VTRs (using an optional adapter), enhancing the use of DV video in professional applications. The AG-DVC10 weighs just 4.8 pounds in full operating condition, and combines three Interline Transfer (IT) CCD imagers with 43-mm filters and a large-diameter 12X optical zoom lens to deliver high picture quality and excellent sensitivity. The AG-DVC10 is equipped with an IEEE1394 digital interface terminal for the fast transfer of digital video into MAC and Windows-based PCs for nonlinear editing. The IEEE1394 terminal also facilitates the dubbing of digital video onto a DV recorder with no quality loss. The camcorder offers a number of manual functions, including Gain Up (to +12dB), Manual Focus, Manual Iris and ND filter, providing the creative freedom needed for professional shooting. The camcorder's audio capabilities include two 16-bit or four 12-bit digital PCM audio channels, a built-in stereo mic, and an external mic input and IR remote control for key functions. Other key features include power consumption of only 8 watts, minimum illumination of 5 lux, Auto White Balance, an easy-to-use 0.5" color viewfinder, and Video and S-Video Outputs. Shooters can select from several program AE modes. The AG-DVC10 will be available in October 2000 at a suggested list price of $2,595. In addition to the AG-DVC10, other key members of Panasonic's DV PROLINE include the AG-DV1000 Mini-DV VTR, the AG-DVC200 DV camcorder, AG-DV2000 DV VTR, the AG-EZ30U Mini-DV camcorder and full lines of master-grade and professional-grade DV videotape. We invite you to discuss issues or post questions on the DVFormat World Wide Users Group. |
