SAN
JOSE, CA (Dec. 14, 2000) -- ViewCast.com is showcasing Videonics MXProDV
and DistanceDV product capabilities as a front-end to the Ospry-500DV
capture card at Streaming Media West 2000 (Booth No. 609) at the San Jose
Convention Center in San Jose, California.
"We
designed the Osprey-500 specifically for the capture of broadcast-quality
digital video for streaming media," said Neal Page, vice president
and general manager of ViewCast.com Osprey Video division. "The Videonics
MXProDV provides mixing and special effects capabilities important to
the professional content creators, and is a perfect complement to the
Osprey-500."
"This is the solution that our customers have been waiting for,"
commented Michael Conway, Videonics Vice President of Marketing. "Professional
video mixing and special effects blended with the quality offered by the
Osprey-500 create an unmatched solution for creating pure digital internet
content."
The Osprey-500 DV Pro is a 32-bit PCI card that provides capture and optional
deinterlacing, scaling and color-converting of video from SDI (SMPTE 259M),
DV (IEEE 1394 Firewire) and analog source inputs (composite video and
S-Video). Audio capture includes balanced and unbalanced analog source
inputs, a professional digital input (AES/EBU via XLR connector), and
audio from the DV source.
The MXProDV includes two FireWire/i.Link (IEEE 1394) inputs, one FireWire/i.Link
output, four S-video and composite video inputs, and four analog outputs.
Any video or audio combination of inputs can be assigned to MXProDV's
four processing channels. This enables video producers to mix DV video
and analog video with near instantaneous transitions. The DistanceDV cables
allow the extension of the DV signal up to 50 meters.
