Draco's Standard Casablanca Avio ST Desktop Video Editors Pricing Reduced

BOULDER, CO. (Oct. 27, 2000) -- Draco Systems Inc. announces its new Casablanca Avio DV, a fully self-contained digital video editing system, and a significant price cut for the standard Casablanca Avio ST video editor.

New U.S. pricing for the standard Casablanca Avio ST is $1,295. For the Avio DV, with IEEE 1394 (also called FireWire and i.Link), it is $1795. The completely self-contained systems let home, school, church and small-business users create broadcast-quality video productions from standard camcorders, both analog and digital. It connects to a standard television or video monitor, and requires no additional computer.

The new Avios simplify the creative process of editing video. Built-in controls make it easy to split video footage into scenes and trim them with single-frame precision, add dozens of video effects and transitions between scenes, create and edit three stereo soundtracks, and build compelling titles and credits with a variety of fonts, backgrounds and motions.

Based on the award-winning, streamlined user interface of the original Casablanca nonlinear editor, the new Avio systems add the latest MPEG-2 technology to provide up to 12 hours of video storage on their internal 20-gigabyte hard drive. Video productions created on Casablancas and Avios are used in settings that range from CNN cable news broadcasts to grade school classrooms, church worship services, business promotional tapes, weddings and bar mitzvahs, travelogues and school plays. More than 60,000 units have been sold world-wide.
