Speaking of best results, if you create a Time Remap graph that you particularly like, you can save that as a favorite and apply it to other clips in the Timeline. Highlight the clip that has been Time Remapped and press Command+F to save it in your Favorites folder.

If you have a clip that you have slowed down, Frame Blending blends or smoothes the frames to prevent the video from strobing. If you still have trouble with strobing, another option you may want to also turn on is Motion Blur, which will further blend frame together. Be aware however that Motion Blur is NOT a real time effect, so you will have to render your clip if you turn this property on.

There is one big problem with Time Remapping in Final Cut Pro 4.0 and that is once you Time Remap a video track, the audio track is not altered; meaning your audio and video will lose sync. Bummer. Hopefully this problem is corrected in the next update.

Until then, enjoy manipulating time in Final Cut Pro 4.0.
