In the Options Panel, click on the Video Settings button, and change the Compressor from the default setting to DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, and change the Quality to Best. Leave the Motion areas empty, as Final Cut Pro will use default settings. Click OK.
Click OK to close the AVI settings panel.
If you haven’t done so already, name the file, and click on Save. This will start the export process creating a file that will be recognized by the Thunder XL. Because you are creating a file that is not compressed a great deal, expect a large file sizes.
With the improvements made in OS X networking PCs and Macs has never been easier. When the exporting is finished, connect to your Thunder system and transfer the file (with the .avi extension) to the appropriate folder (on the Thunder system I have a folder called Import).
From there, import the FCP AVI file like you would any other file in the Thunder system and you are good to go.
