VideoShare to Power FireWire Manufacturer's Products with Video Creation and Sharing Capabilities

ADS logoWATERTOWN, MA (Feb. 20, 2001) -- VideoShare, Inc. today announced that ADS Technologies is bundling VideoShare's software and services with its line of PYRO 1394 Digital Video products. VideoShare and ADS Technologies will provide their consumers with streaming video capabilities for producing, storing and sharing Internet video.

VideoShare's technology, the VideoShare Producer software, is compatible with FireWire products. It enables end-users to capture, encode, optimize and upload media files. With the VideoShare and PYRO 1394DV solutions, users can capture video directly from their camcorders into the Producer or import pre-recorded video to the Producer to convert video to a streaming format. With the FireWire interface, users can capture video, edit and stream video via the Internet without long downloads or bulky attachments.

Consumers of the PYRO 1394 digital video products can install the VideoShare Producer software via the core CD-ROM that comes with the product. The user is then provided with access to VideoShare Internet partners, including Blue Mountain Arts and Lycos. Through these sites, the user is presented with a host of free options to create and share video, including sending video email and posting video to websites through Lycos VideoCenter (www.video.lycos.com) and sending video greeting cards through Blue Mountain's My Videos (www.videoshare.bluemountain.com). Users for both services receive 10MB of free storage in their personal video centers, a private area where they can manage their video collections.

VideoShare's technology is available in the following PYRO digital video suite of products:

-- PYRO 1394 Web Cam

-- PYRO ProDV

-- PYRO BasicDV

-- PYRO Digital Video 1394DV for both desktop and notebook computers

-- PYRO PlatinumDV featuring Adobe Premiere (the latest in the suite)

VideoShare applications will also be bundled in forthcoming PYRO Digital Video products.
