SAN
FRANCISCO (Jan. 16, 2001) -- ADS Technologies Inc. announced that it is
in negotiations to bundle its popular Pyro FireWire/1394 PCI host card
with the recently released Premiere 6.0, Adobe's video editing application.
The cross-platform Pyro FireWire/1394 PCI host card will be the first
open-host-controller-card (OHCI) to feature the full-version Premiere
6.0 bundle. Tentatively named Pyro Platinum DV, the total DV solution
will include several complementary applications and is scheduled for release
next month. Cost is TBD, estimated at just under $400.
The original Pyro 1394DV hit the market at a time when digital video editing
solutions were exclusive to DV professionals at a cost that was inaccessible
to consumers. And while the prices of consumer digital video camcorders
dropped, the Pyro 1394DV was the first affordable DV editing solution
for all levels of DV enthusiasts.
Now both professional producers and digital video enthusiasts will be
able to capture, edit, add effects and output with the powerful Premiere
6.0, arguably the industry standard in video editing software.
High-quality video and sophisticated effects can be created outside the
production studio and on any Mac or PC meeting the system requirements
with Pyro Platinums OHCI-compliant FireWire hardware and the latest release
of Premiere. A similar DV solution will be available for notebooks shortly
after Pyro Platinum DVs release.
